Crazy Bristol Tech

Night one- Remember how I couldn't work the heater? You flip the switch to start the electricity (every appliance has a switch like that), you adjust the spinner to how much heat you want (it's very loose, feels like it should be broken), and then you... touch the "touch" pad. How many of you seriously would have touched the touch pad?? Exactly. Crazy British and their touch pads...

Awesome shower faucet- so far as I can tell, the top one is both a timer and adjusts water pressure. The numbers on the bottom one are degrees celcius- to get above 30 degrees celcius, you need to hold down the red button. Fortunately, I figured that one out on the first try!

The wtf door locks!!! Hold your card against the green button until it buzzes. Then spin the black part... however, the number of times AND the direction you spin it changes based on the door >_< I'm finally doing it right now, but the first day it took about three minutes of enraged rattling for every door.

  1. Holy cow! No wonder Doctor Who usually hangs out in England...they have better (well, more "sci-fi looking") technology!

And gosh, I didn't even think of things like faucets and door locks being different...not to mention that it's degrees Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. What an adjustment!
